Top 10 Most Expensive CS:GO Cases to Open

With the Arms Deal update in 2013, Valve introduced weapon cases. After finishing CS:GO matches, players have a chance to get one of these CS:GO weapon cases dropping for them as a free reward. The cases can either be sold on the market, or be opened with an associated CS:GO case key, which needs to be purchased. Each case contains various skins with different levels of rarity for the different weapons in CS:GO, with CS:GO knives and CS:GO gloves usually being the most desired and rarest rewards, with a few exceptions. Since their first update, Valve has added more and more CS:GO cases and is continuing to do so.

Valve uses a complicated case drop method, which consists of a pool of commonly dropped cases and rarely dropped cases, which changes all the time, whenever a new CS:GO weapon case is added to the game. Besides, this so called 'drop pool' is different for users who have Prime Status and those who don't. A few weapon cases are completely discontinued and don't drop at all anymore. The method used by Valve, results in older cases rising in price over the years, based on their quantities and the demand from players.

In this post, we won't get into details and ins and outs of the drop system. We're simply looking at the 10 most expensive CS:GO cases,  from cheapest to priciest.

CS:GO Weapon Case 3

The CS:GO Weapon Case 3 was released in 2014 and it contains pistol skins exclusively, four of them for the CZ75-Auto. Reason being that the gun itself was released at the exact same time.

The eSports 2014 Summer case was released shortly after Operation Breakout started in 2014. What is special about this case is that part of the profit made from it, was used for upcoming CS:GO tournament prize pools, and basically given back to the community.

eSports 2013 Winter Case

The eSports 2013 Winter Case was introduced in 2013 as part of the Winter Offensive update, together with the Winter Offensive Weapon Case. A portion of the profit was used for the prize pools for CS:GO tournaments, just like the other eSport cases.

The release of the Winter Offensive Weapon Case was part of the Winter Offensive update at the end of 2013, and it was the first case containing community-made CS:GO skins exclusively. The most sought-after weapon skin in this case is the M4A4 | Asiimov, which isn't available in a better condition than Field-Tested, thus making the cleaner looking Field-Tested ones with better floats more expensive than the average ones.

Operation Hydra Case

The Operation Hydra Case was a reward, which was dropped exclusively for those who had purchased the pass for Operation Hydra, which was an operation in 2017. All skins in this case were community made. This case got pretty expensive in a relatively short period of time, due to the fact that it was made a rarely dropped case after the end of operation, instead of becoming a commonly dropped case like some other operation cases.

Operation Bravo released in September 2013, was the second CS:GO Operation and the Operation Bravo Case was part of its content.
