Top 5 Most Expensive CS2 Knives
Knives in CS2 can be quite expensive. But what are the most expensive knives? This article will show you the top 5 most expensive knife skins in CS2.
Knife
skinsKnives in CS2 have been the ultimate status symbol since the game's inception, and even the addition of gloves and other items has not diminished their prestige. The community's passion for knives is evident in their high prices on various online marketplaces. Like any tradable item in CS2, knives follow a value hierarchy reflecting their specific worth.
While the rarity and price of cases contribute to a knife's cost, the community ultimately determines its value based on several factors. These factors include the knife's overall appearance, blade design, and the quality of its equip and inspect animations. This explains why knives like the Karambit, Butterfly, and M9 Bayonet command high prices even in lower-tier finishes, whereas knives like the Shadow Daggers, Gut, and Navaja are much more affordable.
Additionally, some skin finishes are more visually appealing and, therefore, more expensive. Unique patterns on certain finishes can further increase a knife's value, often fetching prices higher than the market average. This article aims to present the top 5 most expensive knives in CS2. However, before we dive into the list, we will discuss some necessary exceptions and the reasons for their exclusion from our final top 5.
Rarest Knives
When collecting data and values, outliers are always a possibility. These values, which differ significantly from the norm, can be found at both the high and low ends of the value spectrum. Since this article focuses on the most expensive knives in the game, we will discuss a few such outliers. These knives are so valuable that they are not listed on marketplaces and exist only in private inventories.
The most expensive Knife Skin in CS2
A prime example is a Karambit in Factory New condition with the Case Hardened finish and a pattern index of 387. This pattern is one of the rarest and is considered the highest-priced Blue Gem in CS2. Initially purchased for USD 100k by a Chinese collector, it is now valued at 1.5 million USD.
Blue Gems
Another notable outlier is the Talon Knife Blue Gem with a pattern index of 55, valued at 50k USD. While it may not reach the level of the Karambit, it still surpasses any knife in our top 5 and won’t be found listed on any marketplaces.
Doppler Phases
Additionally, we have excluded extremely rare finishes such as the Doppler Rubies, Sapphires, and Black Pearls. These finishes are rare, with few listings, especially for top-tier knives such as the Butterfly or Karambit. Prices for these finishes range from 4k to 20k USD, depending on the knife.
Other Outliers
There are also some other outliers like the Karambit Fire & Ice for example, which is a Karambit Marble Fade, that contains virtually no amount of yellow in its finish. As a rule of thumb you can say, that anything that makes a skin super rare will increase its price as well.
For this list we've only taken the most expensive regular knife finishes into consideration.
Top 5 Most Expensive CS2 Knives
So these are the most expensive regular knives at the moment that you can buy on any marketplace:
1. Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web (Factory New)
-18%
This one is so expensive, that it's rare to find them in Factory New condition on any marketplace. Currently there are only Minimal Wear versions listed on Skinport, which are already expensive themselves. For a Factory New one you'll need to pay almost twice the amount than what you'll have to pay for this one.
Butterflys are the most popular knives in CS2 and they maintain that status since they got patched into CS:GO back in the days. The combination of its shape and the animation makes it super desirable.
Also red and black, which are the main colors of the Crimson Web finish, are very popular colors for CS2 skins. That's why it doesn't come as a surprise that this one takes the top spot on our list.
2. Butterfly Knife | Lore (Factory New)
-17%
The Lore finish for the Butterfly Knife is another beautifully crafted design, highly popular within the CS2 community. In Factory New condition, its price is slightly lower than the top contender, placing it second on this list. The blade features a light gold color with an intricate knotted pattern reminiscent of ancient Nordic art. The handle is an army green metallic, complemented by grips with a dull gold marble finish, adding to its exquisite appearance.
3. Butterfly Knife | Fade (Factory New)
-16%
The Fade finishes are among the most visually stunning knives in CS2, and this is reflected in their price. Ranked third on this list is the Butterfly Knife with the Fade finish in Factory New condition. Despite the existence of over 10,000 units of this knife, its extreme popularity and demand have kept prices high.
The Butterfly Knife with the Fade finish was first released in 2014 with the introduction of the Operation Breakout Case and has not been featured in any other case since.
4. Karambit | Lore (Factory New)
-19%
The Karambit is one of the top-tier knives in Counter-Strike 2, standing alongside the Butterfly Knife in terms of popularity and reputation. Ever since its release with the Arms Deal update, it has been widely used by both professional and casual players. The Karambit's design is inspired by its real-life counterpart, developed as part of the Southeast Asian martial arts discipline called Silat. The knife features a curved blade and is typically held in a reverse grip, enhancing its distinctive and formidable appearance.
5. M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web (Factory New)
Like our number one spot, this one is so expensive, that you also couldn't get a Factory New version currently on Skinport. And even the Minimal Wear version is super expensive. Crimson Web knives are the pinnacle of regular CS knives when it comes to popularity. That's why the prices are high all the time and you'll even have trouble finding knives in top conditions.
